India is flooded with cyber attacks. The Maharashtra Cyber Cell’s ‘Echoes of Pahalgam’ report claims that around 10 lakh cyber attacks have taken place.
10 Lakh Cyber Attacks
The 10 lakh cyber attacks in India since April 23rd which is a very worrying matter. Islamic cyber groups operating from countries like Pakistan, Middle East, Morocco and Indonesia are said to be behind these attacks. They are committing such cyber crimes in various states of India.

Maharashtra ADG Cyber Police Yashasvi Yadav said that there has been an unexpected increase in cyber attacks after the Pahelgam attack.
He said, “There are many cyber attackers in India. The most notable among them is Team Insane PK, which is a Pakistani APT (Advanced Persistent Threat) group.
This group has targeted defense-related institutions like Army College of Nursing, Sainik Welfare Portal, Army Public School.” Attacks through Web Protocol Command and Control and CMS exploits. Their targets include India’s education portal, e-governance sites and the banking sector.
Indonesian group Indo Hax Sec has targeted Indian telecom databases and local admin panels and leaked default passwords on the dark web. Groups like Golden Falcon (based in the Middle East) and Moroccan Dragon have also attacked Indian IT infrastructure through malware and dark web reports.
According to the report, these groups are not attacking separately, but rather in a coordinated manner.
The Main Target of The Attack.
A particularly deep connection has been found between Team Insane PK and Mysterious Team Bangladesh. These attacks started on April 26 and are still ongoing. The main targets are railways and banking.

However, due to strong cyber security in these sectors, it has been possible to prevent major attacks so far. But where security is weak, attacks have been successful.

The report also revealed information about terabytes of Indian data being leaked on the dark web.
ADG Yadav said that “We are appealing to all organizations to strengthen their cyber security. Steps like Red Team assessment, DoS failover testing and DDoS testing are mandatory, especially in the banking and transport sectors.”
