How do I report cyber crime successfully?
Complainant provides the following information in case incident is reported by helpline number. When you complain to the National cyber portal after a cyber fraud has happened to you, you must provide your mobile number. If possible, you can also provide an alternate number so that Cyber Crime Police can contact you.
- Name of Bank
- Wallet
- Merchant from which amount has been debited
Please provide the name of the person whose account the money was deducted from and if it was deducted from a wallet, the name of that wallet must be provided.
- Account No.
- Wallet Id/Merchant Id
- UPI Id from which amount has been debited
You must know the bank account number, before filing a complaint. Also provide wallet ID, merchant ID and UPI ID from which the amount has been debited. Do not forget to mention these along with the complaint.

Transaction Id
Transaction ID is the most important thing to mention along with the complaint. It is possible to trace from the transaction ID to which account the money has been transferred.

Transaction date
Transaction date is also important. The date will help you understand when the fraud occurred.
If the online fraud is done through a debit card, then don’t forget to mention the debit card number. Mention the card number and cardholder name.
If possible please take a Screen shot of transaction or any other image related to fraud.
If you feel it is necessary to provide the transaction ID or any other image or screenshot, please do so.
And after successfully login you can lodge a complain using your login credential. After that the designated police officer will quickly examine the matter and report concerned bank or financial intermediary.
